I am officially ending my mourning period following the Packers at home playoff loss to the New York Giants. Some may continue their vigil–if that’s what you need, that’s what you need, that’s what you need. We all mourn in our own way.
No commentary on the game, there’s been plenty of that. To me the Packers are still Green Bay’s team. Packer Backers have seen worse, will see worse again someday. Doubt “worse” is in the immediate future–with a 32nd ranked defense, no where to go but up!
It is, after all, just a game. Plenty of reality in the last few weeks, from the tragic death of Michael Philbin–cutting close to the bone for the Packer and Northeastern Wisconsin community–to more distant events, no less tragic, simply held at arms length.
If you ask me, I think Ms. Lewis was right. I think glitter nail polish for the Conference semi was tempting fate, especially since she had the same green mani since Game 17 last season. Bad advice from Sis. I’ll disagree, however, with the jersey choice–I think I would have broken toward Clay Matthews over Aaron Rodgers in a game where D was big.
The Pack are still Superbowl 45 champs, that doesn’t change. Four Superbowls, one stadium, one town. There’s always next season. 🙂
