This week’s award goes to the Pi Lambda Phi social fraternity at Carroll College in Waukesha, for an interesting anti-hate language demonstration. They created a profanity wall on the edge of campus where people could write mean things–insults, slurs, names–people had said to them. The wall was smashed, pieces were sold and the money donated to charity.
There were some weaknesses in the communications strategy and messaging of the project, which led to a certain amount of controversy, which led to free press! However, let’s give the sponsors a break, they’re college students.
Thanks also for the reminder that no one’s life is perfect or easy.
