Heartlander of the Week: School Is In

To the founders of the modern University—scattered as they were across continents, time and cultures.

A lot of people would likely say that the United States has never really had a reputation for having a thinking culture.  We’re known around the world as action heroes, doers.  Of course, under the radar though it may have been, there has always been an intellectual culture in this country.  Some would actually point to documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution as two of the brighter outcomes of American intellectualism.

So, to learning, and thinking, and contemplation, and planning.  In preparation of doing.
