Perhaps like many Americans, you grew up with hot cereal that, due to gluten intolerance, you can no longer eat. I have the perfect solution for you—grits!!!
If as a Northerner, you have only heard of grits, never fear. They are actually very similar to hot wheat cereal. You can even mix in flavorings like honey and cinnamon, apple or other fruit. One of my favorites is grits with bacon and cheddar cheese.
The directions are on the container. I make them with milk instead of water, which I think improves the flavor and the texture. Yum.
And if you have hear stories about the difficulty of cleaning the grits pan, no joke. :s But they are worth it.
