The Fifteenth Day of Advent: Voting for Free

The previous days have recounted Rights that we all enjoy every day.  They place bounds on how our Government may intervene in our lives and under what circumstances.  You don’t really have to do anything to enjoy the above Rights.  The next few days will describe how individuals relate directly to our Government and how we control our Government.

The national Legislature and Executive are elected with frequencies of two or six and four years, respectively.  Citizens over age 18 get to vote.

The people choose the Government, directly or indirectly, and every two to six years, we get the chance to let them know what we think.

U.S. Const. art I, § 2, cl. 1, and § 3, cl. 1; art 2, § 1, cl. 2, 3 & 4; am 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 23, 24 & 26.
