Gluten-free Monday: Grow Your Own

I think one of the best things about gluten-sensitivity is that it has made me really appreciate how easy it is to feed myself.  It’s fun and it saves a lot of money to cook at home.

The next step is actually growing some of your own food.  If you have an actual yard, it is possible to grow quite a bit of your own food, up to forty percent.  (Fruits, veggies and assorted carbs) Even if you are in the tiniest apartment, a little herb garden is always a possibility.  With a bit more space—a patio or a balcony—some simple gardening is possible.

This weekend, I started my little garden.  Not much, some strawberries and a few pepper plants.  It will sure be nice when my crops start rolling in, though.  🙂

One funny note.  May 1, it snowed here.  May 8, they thought it might snow, but it was only cold rain.  May 9 was hail. Today?  87 degrees.

Life in the clouds . . . .
