Gluten-free Monday: Caramel Apples

I recently stumbled across a caramel apple stand.  They were intensely yummy!

What I loved was the stand was slicing them, placing the apple with stick side up, then slicing off each side, leaving an “caramel apple pop” and two half domes of caramel covered apple.  Excellent for sharing with a group!  I’d never thought of a caramel apple as a group dessert/ treat, but now I see it that way.

I’m sure you could make this treat at home, either the wrapped or the dip method.  However, it’s a rather large, rich treat, most suited for large batches, and this time of year they are available in many locations.  Good opportunity to enjoy someone else’s hard work.  🙂
