Heartlander of the Week: Retro-chic

To the Guardians of the Galaxy cast and crew, for bringing back the 70s-80s, in all its varigated colors and shades.

For those who might not remember, the 70s and most of the 80s were another extended economic doldrum that brought a lot of people and places to a “New Normal” condition.  Gone was much of the excess of the post-War after party, in its place was McDonalds and Stouffers frozen dinners, two income households just trying to pay the rent/mortgage, the era of divorce and kids coming home to empty houses, or even worse, just a bit older babysitters who really did want us dead but couldn’t figure out how to get away with it.

It was, in its own way, a time of simplification, a time of less is more, self-exploration adults and unattended children.  A time of less is less, work with what you have.  So, in the Spirit of ’76, hold your tongue with one hand and say “Apple”.

😉  You know who you are, you taught me everything I know.
