This blog is about the American “Middle”—geographic, cultural, social, as seen through the eyes of one American, who isn’t necessarily always in the Middle, but has an affection for it. The road to the geographic Middle, is, of course, wide open, 24/7, paved in concrete with three lanes in each direction. The path to other Middles is sometimes winding, individual, and at times, impassible. A person can be in one Middle, but not the others. That’s OK, not everyone would fit between the Appalachians and the Sierra-Nevadas, anyway.
